Privacy Policy
In short: Your plan, your meals and your Apple Health data stay on your iPhone. The only thing that leaves it is a plate photo you choose to scan, which is used to estimate its calories and is not kept by us. There are no accounts, no ads, no analytics and no tracking.

Data stored on your device
Your weight, calorie settings, meal schedule, and everything you log (meals, extra food and exercise) are stored only on your iPhone. Deleting the app deletes them. Settings → Start over erases them too.
Apple Health
If you turn on Apple Health in Settings, the app reads the calories you burn: active energy and the calories of recorded workouts, for example from an Apple Watch. It uses them only to add to your deficit or to your meals, as you choose. Health data is read on your iPhone and never leaves it: it is not sent to our server or to anyone else, not used for advertising or marketing, and not sold. The app never writes to Apple Health. You can turn access off at any time in the Health app or in iPhone Settings → Privacy & Security → Health.
Plate scans
When you scan a plate, the photo you take or choose, and any hint you type about the meal, are sent over an encrypted connection to our server and from there to Anthropic, whose Claude AI model estimates the foods and calories. We do not store the photo or the hint; our server keeps only a technical log line with the time, the image size, the number of foods found and the calorie total. Anthropic processes the request under its commercial terms, which do not allow it to train its models on this data; it may keep requests for a limited period for safety and abuse monitoring, as described at anthropic.com/legal/privacy. Please don't photograph people or anything private.
To stop any one phone from overusing the scanner, each scan also carries a random identifier created by the app (not linked to you, your Apple Account or your device) and the connection's IP address. Both are used only to count scans per day, held in memory, and cleared daily.
Nothing else is sent. If you never scan a plate, the app never contacts our server.
Camera and photos
The camera and photo library are used only when you choose to scan a plate. The app sees only the one photo you take or pick.
Notifications
Meal reminders are scheduled on your iPhone, not sent from a server. We do not know when you eat or whether reminders are on.
Data we collect
Beyond plate scans as described above: none. The app contains no third-party analytics, advertising or tracking code. If you email us for support, we use your email address and message only to reply to you.
Children
NutraTrim is meant for adults. It does not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18.
Changes
If this policy changes, we will update this page and its effective date.
